About Fiona

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is calm, controlled, and defensively strong. As a 6, I focus on locking down the midfield, staying composed under pressure, and using purposeful long passes to open teammates and help build the attack.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is team-first, positive, and competitive. I am a leader who helps bring energy, focus, and confidence to the team, and I am always willing to work hard and do whatever role is needed to help the team move forward.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was one of two girls selected from my middle school to attend the Rotary Eighth Grade Leadership Program, also known as REGL. REGL is a scholarship-based program for selected 8th grade students who have shown leadership skills. The program focuses on leadership, ethics, decision-making, and preparing students for high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership, teamwork, and communication skills through soccer, school, and leadership opportunities. I have been a team captain many times, was selected for the REGL program, and have served as a project lead in leadership class. I am also proud to be Native American and part of the Wyandotte Nation, which has helped shape my pride, responsibility, and connection to community.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I have faced is growing up in a divorced family while playing a high-level sport, with support coming from one parent. I travel from Reno, NV to Sacramento, CA, about two hours each way, three times a week for ECNL club practices, plus games on weekends. This has taught me resilience, responsibility, and gratitude, and has made me more determined to make the most of every opportunity

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is a strong overall fit, both academically and athletically. I want a good college experience, a positive team environment, strong coaching, and a soccer program where I can continue to grow. Academics are just as important to me, so I want a school that supports my goals and feels like the right fit in the classroom as well.
