Expert Analysis

Monster name just committing her future to Duke University. The San Juan midfielder is an elite talent with NWSL potential. She is an outstanding facilitator with excellent technique. Unbelievable finisher, scoring half chances for fun. It is difficult to get minutes as a freshmen at such a great program but in Ferraro’s case I think she has a chance to contribute right away.

If you are lucky enough get to one of her games. Sit back relax and enjoy the show. Ferraro is an incredible playmaker with so much talent. She’s a hunter who always wants the ball and makes things happen for her team. She can score goals, set them up and creates a ton of turnovers cutting off opposition passing lanes.

Ferraro is a walking match winner. She is outstanding on the ball and finds gaps in opposing defenses with ease. She can roll players with her back to goal with amazing consistency and might be the best player in the final 3rd at her age group. She can beat you on the dribble as well as the pass. Really exciting prospect who has NWSL and full national team potential. Whatever they’re doing at San Juan SC it is working.

Ferraro is one of the shiftiest, most athletic players you will see. She is so quick and nimble, and she shows great creativity with her ability to step over, to feint or to just outright juke defenders. She’s terrific effort in going forward from the midfield spot, really doing so with conviction. She’s a disruptive force, winning balls and taking away lanes, and she’s terrific when it comes to splitting defenders with a ball, or carrying the ball up the pitch to create space for others.

CM:
Playing a year up this 2009 born has the potential to become a star. She is in the US Youth National Team set-up and playing significant minutes on a very good San Juan 08 team. Her off-ball movement is superb and when she’s on it she is extremely calm and calculated with her play. She scores a ton of goals from midfield, can facilitate and dribble past her opponents when collecting the ball from deep.

Ferraro is an 09 who plays up an age group. She is a starting midfielder with the San Juan 08 ECNL team. She has been part of the US Youth National Teams as well as the ID2 Tour. She is a creative player who will use a variety of passes to beat the opposition. There is a highlight out there of her using the outside of her foot to hit a pass to split the defense and send in the striker on goal from the ECNL playoffs. She’s scored some great goals too – a half volley from 40 yards out into the upper corner of the net. A silky smooth drop of the shoulder body feint to create space inside the 18-yard box and then bury the shot into the net. Ferraro can play the 10, 8, or 6, which probably means she is going to be a No. 8 at the highest level. The versatility and do-it-all nature of her player profile make it a standout, but it’s the way she moves on the field that makes her a top player in this class. She sees the game in a different way than most youth players. She is not all flash. She has a competitive streak and will make just as many impact plays on defense as well.
