Overton and her Dallas Texans U17 team are set to play FC Westlake Blue RL U19 and Lonestar Austin Red U19 in this weekend’s event. Coming from a solid season with the Texans’ RL team, she has what it takes to play at a higher level, standing out as an impressive shot-stopper between the posts. Overton is always well-positioned and does a good job of moving laterally with quick steps before going for the ball, getting in a better spot to catch it without spilling. Very quick to step up and challenge opponents, she has a strong right leg and often initiates attacking plays with punts and long balls.

Overton took 13th place among the goalkeepers in the state and was ranked 108th overall in the age group. She’s moving up at the club level, going from the Dallas Texans G10 team that competes in the ECNL Regional League to the National League, and represents Argyle in the high school state tournament. Overton does a great job with her positioning between the posts and has excellent footwork, always taking a couple of steps in the right direction before going for the ball, which helps her get to shots into the corners. She’s quick to leave her spot when she has to, and has firm, reliable hands, which rarely spill a shot. The goalkeeper also thrives at getting the ball to her teammates with accurate throws after stopping shots, often initiating transition plays.
