Covington is a forward on the Atlanta United U15 MLS Next team. He played up with the 08 age group toward the end of last season. Covington plays on the wing. He is a creative player in the final third. He has quick feet and regularly gets past the first defender. His close control of the ball and ability to turn quickly have separated him from his peers in this position. He can whip in a cross or cut inside to rip off a shot. His movement off the ball is advanced for this age group. He varies his runs rather than stay wide at all times, he cuts inside and makes diagonal moves to receive the ball in different areas while facing toward goal. He is a good two-way player too and works hard defensively to earn back possession for his side. But it is Covington’s creativity on the ball makes him one of the best wingers from this class.
