About Jacob

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength is my vision. I play center mid for the U15 Elite team at Vegas United Everton, and I'm always scanning before the ball arrives, so I know my options early. That lets me find the open teammate, play the quick pass, or switch the point of attack. I also have an excellent first touch, and a solid game IQ that comes naturally.

What are you working to improve right now?

I'm working on my physicality and endurance. I go to the gym, using machines and free weights, to get stronger in duels and shield the ball, and I run cross country to build endurance for a full game. On the ball, I'm working on my passing range and playing through pressure.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I want a program with coaches who develop players and teammates who push each other daily. I'm looking for a style that values a technical, possession-minded midfielder, and a school with strong physics, math, and engineering programs. I'm early in the process and open to all divisions.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

Outside of soccer, I'm a student at Doral Academy Red Rock, where I run cross country. I volunteer at a library, and I wrote a book when I was 12. I like spending time with my friends and taking on new challenges, and I try to keep improving in everything I do.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I want to study physics and math to help build my engineering degree. I am first interested in becoming a professional footballer, but if that doesn't work out, I would love to be a mechanical engineer.
