Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Soccer Scout
Jaeger will be with the Sting Austin 07/06 team that will be challenged by La Roca FC, Oregon Surf and Minnesota Thunder in the showcase. A tall and athletic defender, she dominates the penalty box and is very good at clearing crosses. Jaeger also has superior mobility and is not at a disadvantage when she’s dragged away from the penalty box and has to defend in space, using her great positioning to get in the way of opponents who try to beat her. Her left foot is very skilled and allows her to make an impact in the team’s buildup with accurate short and long passes connected out of the back. Also keep an eye for her dangerous corner kicks out of the right, which often force opposing goalkeepers into difficult saves.

Jaeger is a key defensive piece in her Sting Austin 07 team that got an eighth-place finish in the Texas Conference with seven wins, six losses and two ties and will be in action in the North American Cup. A tall defender, she’s very strong in the air and does an excellent job of clearing crosses that target the team’s penalty box. Jaeger also does well when she has to defend higher up on the field as she displays good mobility and knows how to use her positioning to push opposing attackers back into their own halves. She has good quality on her left foot and uses it to connect efficient passes out of the back and to create goalscoring opportunities by taking corner kicks from the right.

Jaeger was extremely solid playing as a left-sided center back for Sting Austin. She was very good at controlling the space in the area and dismantled several of Albion’s attempts on that side. The center back used her body well to fight for space and dispossess opponents, but also displayed excellent and reading of the game to make interceptions and cover her teammates. Jaeger was very efficient with her passing too and did a very good job taking in-swing corner kicks from the right, assisting Sisson in the team’s first goal.

Jaeger did a very good job playing as a left-sided center back for Sting Austin against Seattle United and helped her team contain their opponents’ offense. A 5’10” defender, she was very strong in duels, making important clearances in the air in set pieces and crosses, and also making some strong tackles. Despite her size, Jaeger displayed very good mobility, tracking quick forwards around and covering on the sidelines. The center back was also very calm on the ball, helping her team circulate the ball. The team’s defensive efficiency continued through the weekend as Sting Austin didn’t concede a single goal in the event.
