Plays at the mid and on defense. She is a top level athlete who can make it difficult for offenses to make high percentage runs on goal. She can make quick and explosive runs to get win backs and plays box-to-box. Her soccer IQ is high and she can anticipate runs and step attacking into lanes while making stops in the box. She is also a standout for San Diego Surf – ECNL G09 team, which will be playing in the National Playoffs later this month in San Diego, CA.

Swain is incredibly athletic as you can see in her movements and the ease at which she plays the game. She is very attack-minded and a matchup nightmare in the midfield because of her explosiveness and her ability to make well-timed runs, to get on the end of the ball and make something happen. She’s terrific when moving on the ball (also great off the ball in finding space) and her agility and stop-and-start ability make her hard to defend. She knows when to go for goal or to play a ball to another runner, showing good instincts.

Swain is on the list of players with the potential to end up as the best player in this class. She has been excellent at the start of the new season. Always engaged in the play, Swain is focused and determined to lead her side to even better campaign in 2023/2024. Her highlight is a bit dated, but the preview of the player is on display. She’s taken a step forward in how she influences the game. She’s very active in getting her teammates involved but she still has that drive in the final third to provide the final touch for the goal. Swain is a special talent and one of the reasons why Surf is the team to beat in California in the 09 age group.
