About Korryn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very offensive wingback that has tremendous speed. Very aggressive in the attack and on defense. Very good passer always looking to play the ball to others.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am an extremely hard worker at school and sports. On the field I am very vocal but off the field I have to say that have more of a quiet personality. I have a funny sense of humor and work to develop friendships with my teammates. I’m a very independent person, I don’t rely on other people to do the work for me on the field.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I received character awards from school for traits including caring, kindness, hardworking, and courage. I am assistant coach for a local kindergarten soccer team. I am in a service based group called, Best Buddies, which connects students of all abilities. I am also a member of our speech club. Lastly, I run track and field. I am the current team leader on the triple jump and the 400m.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

The skills and qualities I have developed on and off the field are leadership and teamwork focused such as patience, assertiveness, conflict resolution, and empathy. My community service skills have come through participation in multiple canned food drives.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I broke a bone in my foot during the beginning of a season with a new team. I was able to work through my insecurities of not being good enough and working to understand that uncontrollables cannot determine my worth or quality as a player.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a big college campus feel with a good soccer team, a strong Christian faith base, and offers a major in psychology.

Korryn McBride played as a defender throughout this match for Missouri Rush 2011. She showcased quickly in this match to have great movement off the ball, a willingness to join the attack, and supports her teammates well. McBride stayed connected well with the back line but knew the right moments of when to take advantage of the space ahead of her. She is strong into challenges and connects her passes often.

McBride is intentional with her movements and decisions. She showed that she thinks about how she passes to her teammates and looks to play to correct foot rather than just passing to a target. She tracks her mark well and doesn’t give up on any action she is involved in. Ultimately, Korryn McBride is a strong player for Missouri Rush and makes a difference on both halves of the pitch.
