Landon is a center midfielder for the Orlando City MLS Academy. He is a technician who can connect and dictate the tempo of a game. He can build while under pressure and if he has a half of a yard, he will break lines of pressure to pass forward. He has a great delivery on corners and set pieces that put defenders and goalkeepers under immense pressure. If given the chance, he can also score goals from midfield. Where he really stands out is his game understanding and positioning. He is good in possession and makes the right decisions at the right time.

Mellecker captained the Orlando City team that emerged undefeated out of Group C with two wins and a tie. A defensive midfielder, he has a central role in the team’s playing system with his ability to consistently get on the ball and dictate the pace of their offense. Mellecker moves very well off the ball and is always around it, offering a constant passing option to his teammates. He has excellent vision and knows exactly when to move the ball laterally and keep possession and when to try more direct, vertical passes into the final third.
