The Archbishop Mitty GK stood tall and made key saves in the match. Yet the biggest save was stopping the third PK shooter to even the match with both sides missing one. Layla was dialed in as her team took the lead 4-3, with the Los Altos last kicker needing to score to even it at 4-4. Not sure if her intimidating posture played a big part in it, but the last shooter sent the ball over the top to send Mitty to the semifinals. The USC commit was the Player of the Match. She’s one of the best goalkeepers in the California Class of 2027. It would be awesome to see her compete again with the Red, White, and Blue.

Staying in California and headed to USC in 2027. Tucakovic is a very talented young goalkeeper with a lot of upside. The Trojans have had a disappointing season by their standards sitting at .500 and probably out of contention for an at large NCAA Tournament bid after losing to Northwestern in the Big 10 tournament. The top 5 goalie in California in the 2027 class will probably have to sit her first couple of seasons like most goalkeepers do and will be ready to make an impact as she transitions into being an upperclassmen. Good fit.

Demonstrated great vision and shot-stopping skills.  Layla also anticipated runs and shut down breakaway runs towards the penalty box.  She didn’t back down against players slipping through the defense and made a few diving saves off of quality shots.  Her presence in the goal was felt when she went up high to intercept or punch away on goal shot attempts.  Tukacovic is a top notch goalkeeper who will definitely rise in the rankings as the seasons goes on.
