Gilch is a forward/midfielder from the PDA 09 ECNL team. She earned my attention during the ECNL playoffs. She was a do-everything type of center forward. She hounded the opposition into making mistakes and she quickly capitalized on those chances. She wasn’t a high output forward – she did not score a ton of goals from the games I watched, but she made a number of meaningful plays to create chances for her team. She is a great teammate as she facilitates for the other players in the attack. Gilch played in the midfield and was listed as a holding midfielder at the start of last ECNL season. The positional change shows versatility and adaptability. Two attributes that all coaches should prize.
