Tetmeyer is long and extremely athletic and it feels like there’s not a single shot she can’t handle between the posts. Another impressive aspect of her game is her unwavering calm attitude in goal, which helps explain how effective she can be in key moments of matches. Her presence between the posts gives her team a lot of confidence and often forces opponents to do a little bit too much to beat her, at times missing chances because of it.

Tetmeyer’s presence between the posts created the conditions for Sting’s victory as the goalkeeper was huge in helping her team sustain Challenge’s pressure in the opening moments. She was particularly important in making saves in a pair of close-range finishes that could have put the hosts in control, showing great reading and reflexes. Tetmeyer continued to use her length well, getting to other shots and controlling the penalty box by catching crosses and corner kicks. There was nothing she could have done to avoid Challenge’s goal as the shot was fired from close range and went right into the upper corner.

Tetmeyer is a big part of a strong Sting Austin G08 team that will be faced with FC Stars Blue, CESA Liberty and the Wilmington Hammerheads during the event. She has established herself as one of the top goalkeepers in the country and was with the USYNT in the summer. The goalkeeper uses her length well to cover a big area of the goal, has amazing spatial awareness and will catch everything that goes her way, be it a long-distance shot or a cross. Tetmeyer is also very quick to step forward and stop plays when under pressure and is solid with her feet.
