How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a modern, reliable GK who’s confident with the ball at my feet & active outside the box. I pair strong fundamentals with smart distribution, using a powerful leg to play accurate balls up the field. Playing GK & FWD has helped me understand the game from different perspectives & contribute offensively when needed. I’m vocal & organized, giving my back line confidence through clear communicatio

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m resilient and confident, always ready to respond after mistakes and stay locked in. I thrive in high-pressure situations and enjoy being the last line of defense.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m currently focused on high-level soccer and academics, balancing national-team responsibilities with schoolwork. As my schedule allows, I plan to engage in leadership and service opportunities.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership and communication skills, along with the discipline and teamwork needed to help my team stay organized and confident. Playing both goalkeeper and forward has also helped me understand the game from different perspectives and contribute offensively when needed.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing intensive training, national-team travel, and academics has been a challenge, but it’s taught me discipline, resilience, and how to perform under pressure.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that offers strong academics in fields like political science or pre-law, paired with a competitive soccer program and supportive coaching staff. I want a school that challenges me, fosters personal growth, and allows me to balance athletics with preparation for law school.

Cathey is the goalkeeper on the Rise SC 2010 GA team. She is also the captain of the Jamaica U17 Women’s Youth National Team. She’s a lover of the game and always looking for more opportunities. The training in goal has paid off and she continues to elevate her game with each season. She’s been great this season with a couple of mesmerizing saves thanks to her strong hands and the ability to snag the ball in traffic. She’s also shown a fearless attitude to get to the ball even in a crowded box. Cathey has been a bright spot for her club and the international experience recently has increased her profile among scouts.
