McCarthy is an attacking midfielder on the Cap City 09 ECNL RL team. Her team qualified for the ECNL RL playoffs this summer. She was also named to the All-State First Team Division II as a freshman last season. She’s been dominant in the high school game this season as well. She is coming up with game-winning goals and key assists in every game. 

McCarthy is a playmaker in the midfield. She has a booming right foot and can provide an excellent ball from set pieces. As good as she is on set pieces, she also has a knack for getting on the end of services and winning aerial duels. She’s scored quite goals with her head this season.
