A few months ago, I said that if Makayla remains as consistently good as she is, she’ll adapt to the collegiate level easily. This assessment has not changed since. In fact, it has been reinforced seeing how fantastic she continues to be. She is intelligent on and off the ball, making her a brilliant player tactically. For the spectator, her ability dazzles in the final third. She does anything you can ask an attacking player to do. Unlike other players, though, she is stellar in every aspect. Virginia Tech has a real gem headed their way soon.

Makayla rounds out a great season with yet another stellar performance. The weight of moving up to collegiate soccer will not affect her if she maintains this level of consistency. Constantly being a headache for defenders, she makes her presence felt in the final third. Her dribbling and progressive characteristics drive her team forward, with her leading from the front. Even with a large crowd and a crucial match, she can embarrass defenders. When she’s one-on-one with the goalkeeper, regardless of how far she is, she will find the back of the net. She is a very exciting talent to keep an eye on for the future.

Makayla proves time and time again how immensely talented she is, proving to be a difference maker in tough situations. Even though the opposing team made her life difficult in this match, she still provided moments of greatness. Her typical movements on the ball created space for danger. Her vision helped advance plays from difficult positions. But it was her finishing that made the difference in such a tight match. Under pressure, she shows that she does not crack when she’s in front of goal.

Makayla proves how consistently talented she is once more, showing how she is a unique talent. In the final third, she constantly looks to have the ball at her feet regardless of the pressure on her. This doesn’t bother her at all, as she can beat players calmly. Finding open pockets of space is second nature for her, exploiting them fantastically. This translates into her either finishing big chances or creating them. The way she opens space is great, too, with her quick passing. Splitting defenses comes just as easily to her, with her through balls being synonymous with danger.

Makayla is a phenomenal forward talent who has the potential to have a special career. Her ability in the final third makes her a massive headache for opposing defenders, to say the least. One of the most impressive attributes is her intelligent movements. When she plays one-twos, she does so lightning quick, which gives her open space to run into and receive the ball. Regardless of how tight the play starts, her movements undo the defense. When she’s in the box, she proves to be devastating. Her finishing is magnificent, even having near-post finishes on lock. Undoubtedly, she’ll continue growing into a fantastic player.

Rodriguez is a forward on the Charlotte Independence 09 ECNL team. She has been called into multiple US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. She’s a high activity center forward for CISC. She thrives in 1v1 situations. If she is up against a center back at the 09 level in open field, she’s probably going to score. She has the rare combination of skill and speed to create separation and then composure to put the ball in the net when she gets the chance. Rodriguez has been outstanding this season. Her game has been elevated thanks to a competitive drive and it shows up on game film every week. She destroyed the competition at the recent ECNL event with a full arsenal of skills. She might not be the biggest player on the field, she’s often the toughest and most competitive. 

Rodriguez is one of those players you just want around the ball at all times because good things tend to happen. This is due to her excellent knowledge of the game and decisive and intentional movement. Rodriguez loves a well-timed ball over the top of the defense, as she uses timing and quick acceleration to her advantage. In the vicinity of the goal, Rodriguez is very clinical and, due to her game knowledge, floats into ideal spaces to create goals.
