With her long stride, Koppers is excellent at stepping in to intercept the play. Once she wins it, she immediately attacks the space and doesn’t stay in second gear—she shifts into third and goes. If she releases the ball, the VDA defender continues her run with purpose. Because of that, running into space has become a key part of her game.With her speed, she can make a major impact when playing out of the back.

First Team All-State selection as a freshman, there are already lofty expectations on the defender from Colgan High School. Koppers experience playing against top older competition at the high school level has prepared her well for the challenges at the club level. She was a top performer during the ECNL playoffs. She played right center back for her club team. She plays with a lot of poise. She rarely makes a mistake on the field and scans through her options quickly. She is a terrific defender especially in 1v1 situations. She would project at the top center back in the 2026 class well, to give some perspective on the level of prospect here. She has a high ceiling and a lot of the key traits scouts look for from a modern day center back. 

Koppers is one of the players who has improved her stock the most this summer. The VDA defender was outstanding during the ECNL Playoffs for VDA 09. The highlight reel is already out there and it’s hard to imagine another center back putting together a better string of games. Koppers’ upside is obvious, which is why she is decorated at the club and high school level. The part of her game that impressed me most from game film was the elite anticipation and feel for the game. She just always seems to be a step ahead of everyone else. Koppers is one of the favorites from this group to be contention for a spot on the Best XI group.
