Expert Analysis
JR Eskilson | Prep Soccer Scout
Cesa is a defender on the Liverpool IA Michigan 2011 ECNL team. She plays outside back for her club team. She has elite speed and it shows in her recovery pace. Cesa is a two-way player at left back. She can shutdown the opposing winger and hit in a cross.
She is a very good 1v1 defender. The technique is there to be a top outside back at the college level. Cesa has shown elite instincts combined with top pace to be a great left back. She’s right footed, but she hits a great cross with her left foot. Her play against Nationals was a major reason for the result – both in her defending and in her contributions to the attack. It’s telling that her team uses her as a target on set pieces even though she is not the tallest player on the field. She has a knack for knowing where to go and anticipates where the second ball will be so she can finish off a chance.
Cesa has been a bright spot in the ECNL Midwest this season and should be on the radar for all scouts.
