Ray’s movement off the ball from the back consistently guarantees her as an option for teammates. Rather than releasing the ball immediately, she takes the time to assess her options and choose the best pass. She can connect with teammates in close quarters, but also has the vision and ability to play the ball over the top when needed. Additionally, Ray excels at tracking back and getting the ball out of danger. Her composure with the ball at her feet, regardless of pressure, makes her a key anchor in the defensive back line. As the season progresses, Ray’s decision-making and reliability continue to stand out.

Ray anchors the SSFA backline with a presence that gives her team security in every phase. She checks out and stretches the field, using her touch to settle play and change the pace from the back. In addition, her passing accuracy stands out, especially when she delivers precise through balls over the top to spark the attack. Ray’s physicality and tackling ability allow her to win key duels, while her smart decision-making under pressure sets her apart. Whether she’s passing back to the keeper to reset the play or making a simple ball to the midfield, Ray maintains composure and keeps her team organized. Lastly, her confidence at the back and all-around skill have rightfully earned her All-Regional League honors.
