About Morgan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a creative and hardworking midfielder who focuses on keeping possession and connecting the attack. I like to make smart decisions under pressure, create opportunities for my teammates, and contribute both offensively and defensively. I’m comfortable in multiple positions, which allows me to adapt to what my team needs in the moment.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a focused and driven player who always wants to improve. I approach challenges with a positive mindset and try to stay composed under pressure. On the field, I’m competitive but also supportive, helping my teammates stay confident and connected. Off the field, I’m curious, responsible, and enjoy taking on new opportunities to learn and grow.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am an Attacking Midfielder for Union KC Girls Academy. Outside of soccer, I am a Certified USSF Referee, Volunteer Soccer Coach at youth camps and events, involved with High School DECA, and a member of my High School Bronco Smart Club (Educating students, parents, and the community on ATOD issues).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed a lot of skills through soccer, especially leadership and teamwork. As a midfielder, I help organize the team on the field and make sure everyone is connected in attack and defense. I’ve also learned to stay calm under pressure and make smart decisions quickly. Off the field, I give back by volunteering at youth soccer camps and staying active in my school’s Bronco Smart Club, which

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One big challenge was a game where we went down a player early and only had two subs. It was physically and mentally tough, and I had to step up in midfield to help keep our team organized while still creating chances. Even under pressure, I learned to stay focused, support my teammates, and make smart decisions. That game really helped me grow as a player and as a leader.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can continue to grow as a player and a student. I want a program with strong coaching and a competitive team environment, where I can contribute on the field and keep developing my skills. Academically, I’m looking for a school that challenges me and offers opportunities to explore my interests outside of soccer.

Callender is a midfielder on the Union KC 2010 Girls Academy. She can also play as forward. She’s excellent playmaker. She’s an attacking midfielder in her style. She’s got good vision and excellent passing range. She displays a lot of patience in her play. She waits for passing lanes to open and she’s calm on the ball to keep control of the pace of the game. Callender’s strength might be overlooked, but she rarely loses a duel and every game it seems like there is a defender who just bounces off of her. Callender has been identified as part of the Missouri ODP team and highlighted as a top talent in the state for some time. She’s continued to impress this season and looks to be among the best midfielders in the state.
