Norris, the former standout from FC Dallas, found a new home with Florida Krush and looked great during the North America Cup run to the championship game. There is a lot to like about Norris’ game. She’s a tough-tackling, right footed midfielder. She can play as the No. 8 or as the No. 6. I think she has a higher ceiling as a No. 6. She delivers a great ball on set pieces and takes some of them for her club team. Norris has Youth National Team pedigree and that elevated approach to the game is evident from watching game film after the event. She consistently makes the right reads in possession and does well keeping the ball moving for her side. Norris had some trouble with the physicality of the Rebels team in the semifinal. She will face more of that in the future, but she has the tools to handle it – and the toughness to endure constantly getting fouled in the center of the field. She scored a great goal from outside of the box in the win over Rebels in the semifinal round, which showcased her quality in ball striking ability from the run of play. Norris comes from a soccer family and should have plenty of suitors from her commitment.
