Expert Analysis
Nikolai Littleton | Prep Soccer Scout
A Power 4 talent headed to a Power 4 school. Headed east to Iowa State and the Big 12 in 2027. Grex is an exceptional talent which shows why she’s the 2nd ranked player in Arizona. She’s a great athlete and shifty dribbler with a high competitive motor. She will scrap her tail off on defense and transition right into offense with 100% intensity. The Cyclones are 4-6-2 this season and they get a big score in recruitment with this news.

Quick decisions. Duel specialist. Strong.
Grex is a midfielder on the Utah Royals-AZ 09 ECNL team. She’s easy to notice on the game film from this team. She’s relentless in her pursuit of the ball and one of the best ball-winning midfielders in the Southwest Conference. Players seemingly just bounce off of her, she’s surprisingly strong in the duel. Grex makes quick decisions on the ball and gets the ball into the attacking players feet. The profile for an immediate impact midfielder at the next level is there with Grex.

Grex has been highlighted recently for her play with Arizona Arsenal and she continues to impress scouts. Her play through the center of the field for Arsenal was terrific during the playoffs. She scored a goal from a penalty kick against Sporting Blue Valley. It was a good finish from the spot, but it’s the play that led to the foul that is worth highlighting. Grex isn’t involved much in the foul that leads to the pk, but she makes a run from box-to-box at a full sprint (to catch up to the ball) in order to get into the opportunity for that chance. The pace she showed in that run reveals the elite athleticism she possesses for this class. She may rely on tactical brilliance for most of the game, but she has that quality in her back pocket and it can be a game-deciding attribute, which is a big reason why she is nationally rated recruit in this class.

Grex played as the defensive midfielder for Arizona Arsenal in the win over Michigan Hawks. I thought she was stellar in her positioning and tackling. She helped control and dictate the game with her tactical brilliance. She buried a free kick for the first goal of the game. Grex showed some versatility in her game in other moments in the game. She drifted wide to start the transition and she covered players to man-mark as well. There is a lot to like about her game currently and a high ceiling for her potential in the future.
