About Peyton

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as attacking minded, while also being able to keep possession and play out of the back. I look to join in on the attacking side of the game when possible. I love to be creative in the attacking third and take players on 1v1 to try and get a cross into the box. While also keeping a defensive mind in winning 1v1s, and passing through pressure in the back.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a very organized, goal oriented, motivated, and talkative person. On the field I always have a goal to communicate with the players around me and am not afraid to use my voice. I’m a person who likes to have a plan with goals set, so that I can motivate myself to work towards them each day. I enjoy being chatty, and making jokes in order to get to know people better, and form friendships.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in my schools Interact Club where we work to set up community projects and fundraisers around the school, along with the SALT team which focuses on building leadership skills, and connecting with the lower class men at school. I am also part of Campus Ministry which helps to lead school retreats, and focuses on building a stronger personal relationship with your faith.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

With having over 200 community service hours and being involved in many different clubs and sports I have been able to develop leadership skills, responsibility, and teamwork. I have been able to transfer all these qualities onto the field by being a vocal captain through organizing my team, but also uplifting teammates when down.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is between 1-6 hours away from my home, with a solid academic program along with athletic program. Preferably a medium/mid major school with an active and lively campus and town around it. To add on also modern athletic facilities, along with dorm rooms. Lastly a soccer program where there is camaraderie between teammates and staff, while still being competitive.

LB – Peyton Saltijeral, Evolution 08 – Saltijeral is a left footed playmaker who happens to be an outstanding defender as well. She was named to the ECNL RL All-Conference team last season for her play with Evolution, one of the top teams in Illinois.  Saltijeral has played some winger in the past and that playmaking ability shines at left back when she joins the attack. She creates off the dribble and does well with combination play – especially when setting up triangles with the winger and attacking midfielder. Defensively, she is a solid 1v1 defender. She stands up players and gets into the tackle. She will thrive in a program that lets the outside back attack.
