About Raeann
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I’m a proactive, vocal goalkeeper who reads the game early, communicates and organizes my back line, and stays composed under pressure. I’m confident coming off my line, strong in 1v1 situations, and help my team build out from the back with good distribution.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’m a calm and composed goalkeeper who resets quickly after mistakes and stays focused throughout games. I lead both vocally and by example, bringing energy, communication, and consistency. In training, I’m hardworking and competitive while staying supportive and positive with my teammates. Off the field, I’m outgoing, approachable, and social, and I bring a positive attitude and good energy.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, Ambassadors, and peer tutoring. Outside of school, I volunteer by helping train young goalkeepers in my club and doing one-on-one training with kids in my town. I am an Honor Roll student and currently captain of my team, staying active in leadership, academics, and community service.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve developed strong leadership, communication, and accountability, along with a consistent positive attitude and work ethic. As a goalkeeper, my strengths include shot-stopping, distribution, and organizing my defense. I lead by communicating, staying composed, and setting a strong example, while continuing to work hard and improve every day.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
One of my main challenges has been balancing a busy schedule with school, soccer, and leadership and service activities. At times it can feel overwhelming, but I’ve learned how to manage my time and stay disciplined. As a goalkeeper, I’ve also learned how to move on quickly from mistakes and stay confident in tough moments. These experiences have helped me become more focused and consistent.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that is primarily strong in soccer, while still offering solid academics and support for my future goals. I am interested in studying health/medical-related fields, possibly pediatric nursing or education. I would prefer schools in the East Coast area, but I am open to other regions if the soccer and academics are a good fit.
