Sophia played a solid match. Her technical skills, intensity, and ability to shut down runs to the box were on full display.
She jumped into lanes, cut off players making diagonal runs, and won most 1v1 challenges. Her 5’9” height made it nearly impossible for the opposing team to win aerial duels. I can see her getting a few looks for possible YNT invites. Sophia repelled a bunch of scoring attempts in the attacking third to keep it a 1-1 draw.

She is a top-level player who is known for her size and strength as well as her tactical ability. Sophia was previously selected for a US Youth Soccer ODP National Team. Other highlights include helping her team to a GA national finalist finish. She’s a true competitor who will rise to the occasion and compete at a high level in big matches. Sophia is dangerous in set pieces, as she can rise above defenders during corner kicks or crosses in the penalty box area. She’s a player national scouts should be taking a look at in Norco.

A defender that is not afraid to challenge for balls in the air, Cochran was very composed on the ball and defensively sound. Her passing allowed her team to keep possession in the dying minutes of the game while her body positioning and tackling made it very hard for attackers to beat her.
