Kowalzyk was really unlucky not to score as she hit the post and forced some excellent saves from the Bayern Munich goalie. She is amazing with her back to goal whether that’s holding the ball up or laying it off and spinning away into space. I’d say she is equally good at leading the line on the last defender or dropping into midfield to facilitate play. Another really impressive talent from Tophat at this event.

In a play-in game to qualify for Virginia Kowalzyk dominated for her TopHat squad. She has such smooth movement for such a tall young player. She scored a couple of goals and must have had 8 or 9 successful dribbles penetrating Cup’s defense.

Kowalzyk had the assist on the opening goal from Brooklyn Mulberry. The forward was effective in getting behind the defense and putting in crosses to dangerous spots. The best part of her game was her timing on the cross. She had the ball arrive in step with her teammates. She nearly had an assists in the opening minutes on a similar cross.
