About Sydney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is technical and possession-based. I excel at distributing the ball, being creative and making plays in open spaces. I'm a versatile player and can play attacking midfield, winger or forward.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm energetic and always try to give my best and play aggresively. I have a big personality and I'm very passionate about what I do. I'm the one who's always hyping everyone up and trying to bring good vibes wherever I go. Going into every soccer game, I have a focused and confident mentality. I'm ready to hustle, support my teammates and do whatever it takes to win.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play soccer year round for the Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) and through our club, there are different charity events we support and volunteer for. I play high school soccer at Ravenwood and focus on getting good grades while constantly traveling for sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I constantly encourage, cheer and motivate my team on and off the field. Being a leader means setting a positive example, encouraging others and maintaining a strong team spirit. I approach every game ready to compete with passion, a postive attitude and winning mind set. My goal is to create an energy within the team that is contagious!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The hardest challenge was moving across country from CA to TN when I was 13yrs old. I had to learn how to meet new friends in school and try out for a competitive team. After making the ECNL 08soccer team, I had to figure out how to fit in personally and adjust to a new style of play. Its been hard, but the challenge has made me stronger mentally and physically.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'd love an enthusiastic and spirited college. A school that supports their athletics and is an important part of the student culture and college experience. I'm especially looking for a college with a strong athletics program where I can continue playing soccer. I want a school thats a good size -not too big or too small. I also want a fun college town with lots to do and a warm climate!
