About Sydney
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My gameplay style is very direct. I like to be loud and vocal, commanding my players across the pitch while also giving them opportunities to play the way they want as well. I tend to be firm and intense with my team, not because I'm mean, but because I know they can play well and I push them to their greatest potential.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Outside of the game, I'm very lighthearted and I enjoy having fun. However, during games, I'm extremely serious. If things aren't going well, I naturally get annoyed, but I don't shut down completely, I do my best to keep the team's spirit up and positive.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in the BETA club at my school; we do volunteer work similar to NHS. I have also received the UIL Academic all-District Honor Roll award this season too.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed leadership skills and teamwork skills. I also have developed communication skills and community service skills through volunteer work.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
This most significant challenge I have faced is playing for a team that was at the bottom of the GCL bracket. It was challenging because I felt as though I was showing up to each game just to get hammered relentlessly. However, that challenge has also helped me rapidly exceed in my goalkeeping skills and allowed me to become a better player.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a college that is flexible. The two majors I am thinking of pursing are Veterinary Medicine and Sports Journalism/Radio and Communications, both of which may require me to get hands on experience by going out in the field. I want to find a college that will be able to accommodate for me missing either games or practices as well as allowing me to fully enjoy the college experience.
