Another big time performance from the center back in this winner take all game. Lamorinda found themselves down 4-1 and had to go a bit more direct. That suited Mckey just fine as she showed off her incredible passing range the entire second half. Dumping the ball in over the top of the West Coast defense in great spots for her teammates to run on to. Could a Youth USA national team call up be in her future? I think she deserves it.

Headed to Auburn in 2026 Mckey is a top talent with professional potential. She’s tall, fast and makes great decisions on the ball. Her Lamorinda side are one of, if not the best 2008 teams I’ve watched this year. They play exceptional possession based soccer. Mckey is the rock at the back that holds the team together.

McKey is a defender on LaMorinda Girls Academy team. She can play as a center back or an outside back. There are elements of her game that would lead to a very exciting possibility as a wing back. The game looks easy for McKey. She is a dominant player at the youth level, which one would expect from a nationally ranked player. She stands at 5’10 and moves with ease on the pitch. She covers ground in a hurry with her long strides. She is athletic in the tackle and rarely gets caught on her heels. On the ball, she is composed and shows good decision-making qualities. McKey has all of the tools to develop into a multi-year starter at center back for a top Division I program.
