A solid player on both sides of the ball, Mailander plays left back for Eclipse Select SC G08, which will face Solar SC, Legends FC and Colorado Rapids. She’s a tall player and uses her frame well both defensively, to dispossess opponents, and offensively, to shield the ball as she progresses upfield. Mailander is also strong in the air and can be frequently seen tucking inside the penalty box to help the center backs. She’s very smooth in possession, driving the ball forward with quality and sending dangerous crosses inside the penalty box.

Mailander plays with a lot of intensity on the left side of Eclipse Select SC G08’s backline. She gets on the ball a lot and has an important role in the team’s offense, making good runs and connecting passes from the left any time she sees an opportunity to do it. Mailander has a well-developed game on the ball and has the vision to find good passes forward, but can also carry the ball upfield herself and shield it from opponents. When she gets to the end line, the outside back can send some dangerous crosses into the penalty box. She’s taller than most players in the age group and uses that very well when playing defense as she’s excellent at cutting passing lanes and intercepting long balls.

Mailander was very active on the left side of Eclipse Select SC 08 on Monday, when they topped GSA 08 4-0. She played some offensive-minded soccer, driving the ball forward any time she saw an opportunity to do it. Mailander has very good technical skills but is also a tall and athletic player, being very difficult to dispossess. She’s pretty resourceful too, being capable of beating opponents off the dribble or finding teammates with good passes and crosses. The fullback is solid on defense too and uses her size well to intercept and deflect long passes.
