About Tessa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a dynamic attacking midfielder with elite footwork, great field vision and power using both feet. I want the ball at my feet in key moments and hold up well in high pressure situations.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a team-first mentality and I am just as happy having the game winning assist as I am scoring the game winning goal. I stand out at the club and school level because of my tireless work ethic and drive to always improve. Every day you don't practice soccer is another day until you are great at soccer.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and I am a national champion in artistic roller skating.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

My many years of elite club soccer have taught me to lead by example and not tear down teammates on the field of play. I was captain of my team at my last club and was always the first to show up for practice and the last to leave practice. I belong to the National Charity League and spend a significant amount of time preparing meals for foster puppies. I also teach skating classes once a week.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My grandmother suffers from Alzheimer's and was forced to move into our home, so I have had to help my parents with her ongoing care. It has forced me to grow up and act in a selfless manner.

What type of college are you looking for?

My dream is to play soccer and attend an Ivy League college. If not, I would love to play for a school in my native Texas.
