Allen is the top ranked player in the class so it’s no surprise there is some lofty expectations for the Stanford-bound forward. He heads to a program that has a rich history of player development -and to a coach who is renowned for his ability to get the most out of his players. Allen should be an ideal fit there – both from a playing style and from a mentality standpoint. He’s driven to be the best and will get constantly challenged in training to raise his level. The current Stanford roster is set up perfectly to give Allen ample playing time in his first season (along with a strong midfield to provide service to him).
The other name to watch from the Stanford class is Victor Fung. Stanford head coach Jeremy Gunn said this about Fung recently, “Victor is a Rolls-Royce defender who can calmly shut down opponents with the minimum of fuss.”

The top ranked 2025 player and Stanford commit scored the game winner and lone goal of the game against the Portland Timbers. He is a classic poacher and natural finisher. His game reminds me of Ruud Van Nistelrooy the closer to goal he gets the better player he becomes.

Allen has been extremely productive in MLS Next this season while playing for San Jose Earthquakes. The center forward has really impressed me with his growth as a complete prospect as a striker. He is using his body well to shield defenders. The cleverness with his body positioning is making him a handful for youth defenders. Allen is an 07 who is playing up on the San Jose Earthquakes 06/U17 MLS Next team. Standing at six-foot-three, he already has the frame for the next level. He is right footed, but a confident finisher with either foot. He has the technical quality on the ball to drift out wide, but his future is very much in the center. This year should be big for Allen, as he should have more opportunities against older competition to prove he is ready to make that jump into an MLS Next Pro role. His play recently suggests that he is ready for that type of challenge, which is why he is ranked so highly in the state.
