He rarely needs to go to ground because of his strong stand tackles. As a defensive midfielder, he combines both the agility needed to play out wide and the strength needed to defend and applies them perfectly to the role. He offers directness and clarity centrally, with great vision and a strong shot as well.

He’s a physical defender who does well in duels when he can use his strength and body to dispossesses the attacking player cleanly.
