About Zoey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I pride myself in playing multiple positions and on both sides of the field. Players on the opposing team can't tell if I'm right footed or left footed. I am a very technical player and try to stay steps ahead of the play, waiting for anticipating moments. I like to be the loudest on the field and help bring the energy the second the whistle blows!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am the one who leads the dynamic warm up at practices and before each game. You always know where I'm at on the field, because you'll hear me. You might not see me, and I'll be I'm the shortest on the field. But you'll notice me! I like to be a cheerleader on and off the field and help boast my teammates spirits if the game isn't going our way.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At school I am involved in the Beta Club, Soccer Club, I take Spanish in Middle School, and was nominated the Sportsman of the Year in 7th grade.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I was a Girl Scout when I was little and I'm very involved in my church. We have a middle school program called PATH and I accumulate many volunteer hours each year. I like to be a leader in my classroom and on the soccer field.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My main challenge has always been my size. I'm the smallest player on my team and when I play up an age group or two, it's even more noticeable. It just makes me the player I am today. I have to be faster, smarter, and more technical than others in order to play soccer at a high level.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love to play in college and Division 1 is my ultimate goal. I want to play for a coach that creates a fun atmosphere and focuses on developing young players to earn their spot on the team. The Big 10 is my favorite and my Dad went to University of Illinois in Urbana Champaign. I got to play on the field last October at an ID camp and it was a really cool experience!
