Regional rankings feature three new No. 1s
Noblesville (Ind.) boys and Bearden (Tenn.) and Lone Peak (Utah) girls climb to the top of their respective region rankings this week, which marks the first of the weekly rankings update for the 2021 fall high school season.
Noblesville inherits the Mid-East boys region No. 1 ranking after preseason No. 1 Naperville North (Ill.) lost in its season opener. Similar situations existed for Bearden and Lone Peak. Bearden’s 5-0 start coupled with two losses by preseason region No. 1 Strongsville (Ohio) allowed Bearden to inherit the top spot. Meanwhile, Lone Peak earned its ranking on the field. Lone Peak started the season ranked No. 2 in Utah, but then traveled to Idaho and knocked off Rocky Mountain and Boise, which were both in the national Top 25.
