Regional Rankings: Holidays slowed down the action
With most of the winter-playing states on break, there was not much in the way high school action the past seven days.
However, a few regional events resulted in the shuffling of the California boys and girls rankings, especially in the South.
Aliso Niguel (Calif.) girls, which were idle, move into the top spot after last week’s region No. 1 lost a pair of matches. The big movers in the regional rankings this week were Etiwanda (Calif.), which jumped from No. 22 to No. 8 in California-South, and Riverside King (Calif.) girls, which debuted at No. 9 in the California-South Top 25. Etiwanda and King can attribute their significant moves to victories last week over former region No. 1 Santa Margarita.
In boys soccer, Danville Monte Vista (Calif.) moved to No. 2 in the California-North rankings, which also will result in a higher ranking in the FAB 50.
Check out the regional rankings below. The FAB 50 national rankings are updated each Tuesday.
