The National Champions in the U13 age group (Colorado Rush) and U19 age group (FC Bay Area) being crowned at the SoCal Sports Complex. The winners in the U14 through U17 age groups will have to wait until July in St. Louis for finals week.
The U15 age group had the quarterfinal round of games. NEFC, Cincinnati United CUP, Lou Fusz, and TSJ FC Virginia advanced to the semifinals from that age group. The U17 age group will wrap up the event on Tuesday with the quarterfinals.
Here are the standouts from the games that PrepSoccer saw on Monday.
Lilly Ford, Utah Celtic 05 – Ford is a right footed center back who could play on either side in the center of a flat back four. She is a standout player for her attributes in distribution. She scans the field quickly and never seems to stare down an option. She strikes the ball well and can hit any target across the pitch. She is a 2023 prospect. Rachel Feveryear and Mia Becarevic were also standouts for Celtic.
Lily Patterson Lily Patterson D Rock Bridge (MO) | 2023 #162 Nation MO , Lou Fusz 05 – Patterson is a verbal commit to Kansas State for the class of 2023. She plays as a center back for her club side, and likely will fill that role at the next level as well. She is a bit undersized for a traditional center back but she makes up for it with intelligence and toughness. She is not afraid to get into a tackle with full steam. She did really at being in the right positions on Monday to thwart the Utah Celtic attack. Ava Lewis and Blaine Schutte Blaine Schutte D MO (both prospects from the 2024 class) put in a good shift. Lewis has a high work rate and covered a lot of ground. She also seemed to have an extra gear to get past the opposition when needed.
Chloe Zipprich Chloe Zipprich null | GK Loyola Academy | 2025 State IL , FC United 07 – Zipprich proved that FC United is a factory for goalkeepers. The 2025 recruit made a few amazing saves in the second half against CUP in the quarterfinal game on Monday. She had everything covered for her team and put on a show for the crowd with a couple of acrobatic blocks as well.
Audrey Alberts, FC United 07 – Alberts made a couple of great tackles in the game against CUP. She came up clutch in the instances that her team needed her to provide a block or a stop from her center back spot. She has good instincts and a smart soccer brain. Emily Buescher was also a standout for FC United.
Rylie Morse, Cincinnati United Premier 07 – Morse is silky smooth on the ball and connected the lines for CUP on Monday against a stout defensive side in FC United. She made a few great passes to split the defense and create chances. Lexi O’Shea Lexi O’Shea F State #80 Nation OH was also a focal point of the CUP attack. Emily Steiner had a strong game defensively for CUP.
Braelyn Even, Cincinnati United Premier 07 – Even scored a goal in overtime to send her team to the semifinal round of the playoffs, as CUP looks to defend the title after winning the national championship in this age group last season. Even’s goal was a spectacular strike. She finished a volley out of the air across her body into the upper corner of the net.
Paige Dziedzic Paige Dziedzic F Walter Payton Prep (IL) | 2023 #66 Nation IL , FC United 05 – Dziedzic had a wonderful game against FL United on Monday. She is a verbal commit to Pittsburgh to the class of 2023. It’s easy to see her skills translate to the next level. She is a playmaker from an attacking midfield role. She makes excellent reads and provides great service to her teammates. Ellie Redmann and Megan Murray Megan Murray F Glenbrook South (IL) | 2024 IL also had standout moments in the first half. Murray is a fun winger to watch. She is so deceptive in her movement that outside backs are regularly fooled as to where she is going both with and without the ball. Her body feints are very good and make her a top winger option from the class of 2024. Olivia Duray Olivia Duray M Benet Academy (IL) | 2023 #119 Nation IL also had a strong game in midfielder for FC United.
