The high school season is fully underway as students have all returned to schools in the region. Here's a look at some of the girls high school players in the area I'm looking forward to seeing this season. As always this is not an exhaustive list. If you have recommendations of players or teams I should get out to see this fall, email me at matthew.r.ralph@gmail.com.

[player_tooltip player_id='33226' first='Lisa' last='McIntyre'], Sr., Midfielder, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy
The Maryland-bound senior was one of several weapons for the Hillers last season in about a dominant a season as a team can have in high school. Her ability to create off the ball, field vision and IQ makes her a challenge for even the better organized defenses.

[player_tooltip player_id='25917' first='Madison' last='Shumate'], Jr., Forward, Downingtown East
Shumate is the top-ranked player for the Class of 2024 on PrepSoccer for a reason. She's exciting to watch for her well-rounded qualities with and without the ball. She'll be called on to carry the attack for Downingtown East this season and there's no reason to believe she won't absolutely shine.

[player_tooltip player_id='25990' first='Selah' last='Koleth'], Jr., Midfielder, Radnor
Koleth had a breakout season last year as a sophomore and was part of a team that made it all to the state final. Koleth played more out on the left wing last season but she appears to be taking on a bigger role this year more centrally. It makes sense too because Koleth is silky smooth on the ball and can create for herself and teammates. Though Radnor lost some big names from last season Koleth is part of a solid core of returners.

[player_tooltip player_id='45376' first='Ava' last='DeGeorge']

[player_tooltip player_id='45394' first='Gianna' last='Rivera'], Jr., Forward, Archbishop Ryan
Rivera showed out in a major way in her club team's national championship (PSC Coppa Rage) both with the goals she scored but perhaps more so in all of the ways she played her position. Her toughness to pressure opponents and play through contact, ability to hold the ball and time her runs is a joy to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='45376' first='Ava' last='DeGeorge'], Jr., Midfielder, Archbishop Wood
DeGeorge is another player from that PSC Coppa Rage who will be turning heads in high school this fall. DeGeorge has a flair for highlight-reel goals off set pieces or angles you don't expect but her real magic is her decision making when she has the ball at her feet. She's never in a hurry and is content to carve defenses apart like a Chess master moving pieces around the board.

[player_tooltip player_id='35570' first='Lily' last='Fusco'], Jr., Midfielder, Agnes Irwin
Lily captured a lot of attention for her standout sophomore season last year and will no doubt turn more heads this season. Her ability to see the game, create off the ball, time her runs and fire off shots from just about anywhere makes her a near constant threat.

[player_tooltip player_id='30309' first='Camryn' last='Williams'], Sr., Forward, Central Bucks East
I've seen Camryn play a few times with her Warrington SC club team and she has impressed every time. Her game-breaking pace and ability to create chances sometimes out of nothing makes her a problem for defenders to solve sometimes to the benefit of her teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='25709' first='Audrey' last='Cain'], Sr., Defender, Academy of Notre Dame de Namur
Cain is very influential both in the attack and on defense for the Irish and is poised for a standout senior season after helping lead her team to the PAISAA final last season. She gives the Irish width on the attack, can use both feet and has the recovery required of a flank player.

[player_tooltip player_id='25932' first='Maya' last='Naimoli']

[player_tooltip player_id='25706' first='Aubrey' last='Beaugard'], Jr., Defender/Winger, Methacton
Speaking of solid left-sided players, Beaugard plays wide both as a left back and a winger and in addition to be a consistent threat going forward has a knack for scoring or setting up big goals whether from the run of play or off dead balls. "Great ball" or "nice hit" are common phrases to use when watching Aubrey play.

[player_tooltip player_id='25932' first='Maya' last='Naimoli'], Sr., Goalkeeper, Episcopal Academy
The Ohio State-bound goalkeeper is the latest top goalkeeper to come through EA's program. Naimoli is an incredible shot stopper but she's also well-rounded in all of the other areas of goalkeeping, from game management and communication to distribution and positioning.

[player_tooltip player_id='43418' first='Taylor' last='Mays'], Sr., Forward, Pennsbury
Like Rivera, Mays was on the Best XI for the USYS national championships in Florida over the summer. The two forwards were an unstoppable pair for PSC Coppa Rage and you'd expect to see Mays continue that form into her senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='25777' first='Elly' last='Slensky'], Sr., Midfielder, Lower Merion
Slensky is one of those players who you notice right away because of how involved she is in the game. She has a great work rate and is as impressive in how she breaks up plays defensively as she is going forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='45372' first='Adria' last='Kitzinger']

[player_tooltip player_id='41028' first='Isabella' last='Brown'], Sr., Midfielder, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy
Another player from the PSC Coppa Rage team who is part of that dangerous Hillers attack. Brown has a flair for the flashy play - as she showed in her free kick and counter attack goal at nationals - but her willingness to do whatever it takes to contribute to the team makes her at times a secret weapon.

[player_tooltip player_id='25773' first='Ella' last='Koschineg'], Jr., Midfielder, Gwynedd Mercy Academy
Koschineg has impressed me with her play as a holding midfielder for FC Bucks. A great tackler of the ball, Koschineg also has tremendous passing range and a very high soccer IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='58409' first='Adria' last='Kitzinger'], Sr., Forward, Ridley
A handful in the attack, Kitzinger has the ability to open up a defense with her speed down the wings but is smooth enough on the ball to draw extra attention and find teammates into space.

Quinn Whitaker, So., Midfielder, Episcopal Academy
Whitaker was the lone freshmen to make the All-Delco team last year and is part of a very talented group of underclassmen at EA that includes classmate Maya Bright in the attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='45667' first='Sage' last='Stelzer'], Sr., Midfielder/Defender, Wissahickon
Stelzer, who is committed to Pitt, is coming off a summer where she helped the U.S. team win silver at the Maccabi Games in Israel and so far has had an excellent start to her senior season. A versatile player who can play on the back line and in the midfield, Stelzer strikes a good ball on set pieces and does a lot of the little things well.
