Boys ECNL Recap: Penn Fusion U16 vs FC Delco

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After a loss and two draws in North Carolina to start the season Penn Fusion's U16 boys ECNL team picked up their first win of the 2022-2023 campaign with a 3-2 victory over FC Delco in the driving rain last Sunday. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='15203' first='Julius' last='Rigo'] had two goals and an assist and Chase Esser had a goal and an assist to lead Penn Fusion. FC Delco defender Jayson Bentum was under a lot of pressure and put out a number of fires in the back to keep FC Delco in the game. Goalkeeper [player_tooltip player_id='15243' first='Mason' last='Levine'] also made a couple big saves against a Penn Fusion team that had more of the ball on the day. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Penn Fusion's back line in front of keeper [player_tooltip player_id='15150' first='Evan' last='Chappell'] was tough to break down with [player_tooltip player_id='15312' first='Srivishnu' last='Reddy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='15300' first='Sawyer' last='Spiegel'] at the center back spots, Vincent Uglow at left back and [player_tooltip player_id='15222' first='Liam' last='Kolbay'] at right back. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Will Van Beelen was active in the midfield for FC Delco and had some bright moments combining with [player_tooltip player_id='15207' first='Kaden' last='Bono'] while Kennedy did a lot of work on the defensive side and Yuehan Yang showed bite winning the ball in the middle of the field. While Rigo and Esser were the clear stars on the day going forward for the hosts, Lasik, Christopher Nascimento and Drew Yusko also made positive contributions to the attack. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Penn Fusion will host their last game of 2022 against FC Bucks Dominion at 1 p.m. on Sunday at USTC.
