Evelyn Javers

The Warriors sustained a multitude of injuries this season, forcing many of their 2025s to step up. One such player who showed that they were up for the challenge was Javers, who scored 8 goals and tallied 7 assists for the 4A State Champion. Javers can play a variety of positions but for Whitman she primarily slotted in at the midfield position, where her passing skills and runs off the ball were used to jump start the Warrior attack. Although she is a sophomore, she has extensive experience in high pressure situations having scored the game-winning goal for Whitman in the 2021 4A Championship. She was also a part of the Virginia Union side that won the 2021 ECNL North Atlantic Conference Championship.
Heaven broke the single season goal scoring record for the Rockets, scoring an impressive 26 goals leading the side to the Maryland State 4A Quarterfinals. What makes her such a difficult player to defend against is that she makes excellent runs at the box and can deliver pinpoint passes to her teammates, as evidenced by her 9 assists last season. For her efforts, she was named to the MACS All-State First Team. For her club side, Bethesda, she is one of the top forwards in the ECNL North Atlantic Conference and is a leader both on and off of the pitch.
Kailynn Effah
Kailynn Effah
Effah was one of the top goal scorers in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and was integral to the side capturing both the WCAC title and also the Washington DC Sports Athletic Association title. On the attack, she makes excellent runs off of the ball and hit strong shots from distance as well as from close range. Furthermore, she is also a fantastic passer and can open up play with long balls to the outside or crosses into the box. She was named to the WCAC All-Conference First Team and was an honorable mention for the Washington Post All-Met team.
Riley Matthews

Matthews scored 23 goals and tallied 14 assists for Bennett this season, leading the side to the Bayside Conference Championship and an appearance in the Maryland 3A State Championship Quarterfinals. She has excellent footwork and can move seamlessly through defenders into open spaces to set up attacking chances. She is also an expert passer and can coolly slot passes to her wingers to open up space. Her Coppermine side is one of the top club teams in the state, having previously won the Maryland State Cup and is currently playing in National League PRO.
Helfrich had another dominant season for Stone Ridge in the Independent School League, pushing the side to a 6-1 record and the AA Division Regular Season Title. Helfrich is an expert passer who can find targets in space and in between defenders with relative ease. She is also incredibly fast and can use her pace to help create counter-attacks. What has been interesting to see over the last year or so is that she has really stepped her defensive work, and can track back when needed to slow down attackers or make decisive clears. She is a member of the USYNT U16 National Team and is part of a Virginia Union side that is one of the top teams in the ECNL Mid Atlantic Conference.
Kosette was first team All-ISL Conference for St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, who finished second in the AA Conference this season and feature a young, exciting corps of players that should have success in the seasons to come. With both her school side St. Andrew’s and her club side Virginia Union she makes excellent runs at the ball and can change her pace to meet the situation. She is very excellent at reading what defenses are going to throw at her and responding accordingly, a skill that is very hard to develop but one that she uses frequently on the pitch. Her motor and willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed will undoubtedly help her in the coming seasons.

Helen Bonner
Helen Bonner
Bonner was a spark for the Georgetown attack this season, leading the side in goal en route to their first place finish in the ISL A Division. She possesses a fantastic first touch and ample speed to burst past defenders. She does her best work on the outside where she can take on multiple defenders to open space for her teammates or rip a shot from distance when called upon. With Arlington, she is one of their top 2025 attackers so she should get plenty of minutes this spring.
