Foster Falcons
The Foster Falcons from Richmond are a force in the UIL Division 5A – Region 3, District 20. The team has won the district title in the last five seasons (including the current one) and has been a perennial playoff team. The Falcons made it to the Regional Semifinals in the last two seasons and, with a loaded roster, will try to go even further this time.
Players to Watch
Kaleigh Lazenby
Kaleigh Lazenby
A defender with great physical and technical tools, Lazenby plays at the heart of the Falcons’ backline, from where she makes a big impact on the game. She reads the game very well and likes to anticipate plays when she has a chance, but is also really good in 1v1 battles, using her physicality and speed to dispossess opponents. Lazenby is also very involved with Foster’s buildup and often connects some really good passes from the back. She has a very strong right leg and is a threat on free kicks, often scoring from very long distances.
Samantha Doherty
Samantha Doherty
Doherty plays on the left side of Foster’s backline and does a very good job on both sides of the game. She’s very reliable when playing defense, using her good positioning to intercept long passes and holding her own in 1v1 duels. Also a cross country and track student-athlete, Doherty is also very physical and that impacts her offensive game as she’s capable of making quick and strong runs upfield, while also having enough gas to run up and down the field during the entire time. She also has a lot of strength in her upper body and is really good at sending long thrown ins inside the penalty box.
Hannah Bolin
Hannah Bolin
Bolin plays a central role in Foster’s offense from her midfield position. A Sam Houston State commit, she gets on the ball a lot and often creates good chances using one of the numerous weapons of her offensive arsenal. Very technical and intelligent, Bolin can beat defenders off the dribble or use her excellent vision to find teammates on good spots. She’s also a threat around the penalty box because of her ability to finish with power and precision from distance. Bolin also works a lot on defense and plays hard when she needs to.
Kaitlyn Walsh
Kaitlyn Walsh
A talented offensive midfielder, Walsh is very dangerous around the penalty box. She’s very skilled on the ball and often finds good passes behind the backline, requiring strong attention from opposing defenders. An Illinois Tech commit, Walsh is also really good at combining with her teammates to create space. She likes to attempt finishes from outside the box and often connects some good and accurate shots from distance.
Addie Zebold
Addie Zebold
Zebold is a very effective offensive player, who creates chances in high volume with her game. She is flexible tactically, being capable of playing anywhere on the front line, and, wherever she’s at, she’ll be difficult to defend. Zebold uses both feet well to control the ball and finish and is very good at making turns and changing directions. She offers excellent passing possibilities to her teammates too, making runs to get the ball in space or finding pockets of space to get it in deeper postions.
Kylie Reddell
Kylie Reddell
A dynamic offensive player, Reddell can beat defenders with solo runs through the middle or by combining with her teammates. She’s very direct and looks to go straight to the goal every time she gets on the ball. A Texas A&M commit, Reddell is also very skilled as she has good ball control with both feet and can finish really well from mid-range. She also has good pace and dribbles the ball well to either side. Reddell still has the energy to pressure opposing defenders when they are in possession and she often wins the ball back in good spots.
