Players to Watch
Safiya Binsilim
Safiya Binsilim
Binsilim gives a lot of stability for the Chargers between the posts. She’s sort of a low-profile shot stopper, who won’t embellish saves with big moves, but is incredibly efficienet. Binsilim is very good at making diving saves as she has good explosion and spacial awareness. She also deals well with long-distance shots and uses her height to collect crosses into the penalty box. Binsilim has also established a strong communication with her defenders and that helps the Chargers to have more solidness in their defensive efforts.
Lauren Pellentier
Lauren Pellentier
One of Fulshear’s strongest defenders, Pellentier plays an important role in the team’s system. She can play as a center back or as a defensive midfielder, but has been mostly used in the backline, from where she can use her pace to cover her teammates. Pellentier is also very strong with 1v1 duels as she has good positioning and the patience to wait for the right moment to make the tackle. She’s got a strong and accurate right leg and takes most goal kicks, free kicks and penalty kicks for the Chargers.
Erin Skeen
Erin Skeen
Typically deployed alongside Pellentier in the heart of Fulshear’s backline, Skeen complements her defensive partner very well. The center back has good size and is very strong in the air, helping clear crosses that go inside the team’s penalty box. Skeen is, in short, a very good defensive player, who plays hard, gets a lot of interceptions and is very good in 1v1 situations. She also uses her body really well to block shots from a close distance. SHe’s committed to Ottawa University.
Siena Muskivitch
Siena Muskivitch
A freshman, Muskivitch is one of Fulshear’s most creative players. She’s very good in dribbling the ball forward and is very direct, often managing to get the ball upfield in a really quick way. The midfielder is good at dribbling in tight spaces and has uses both feet well to do it. Muskivitch likes to accelerate the game when she’s in possession and finds some good passes that get her teammates in good spots. She’s also very calm inn front of goal and likes to finish from distance.
Lizeth Moreno
Lizeth Moreno
Moreno is another talented freshman who will have a major role in Fulshear’s offense for the next few years. A lefty, she has good pace and is a very good dribbler, being capable of beating opponents in her runs or in tighter spaces. She also moves well off the ball and often makes strong runs in behind the backline to receive through balls. Moreno is never afraid of attempting a finish and works really hard for the ball, putting a lot of pressure on opposing defenders.
