Every now and then, we’ll have a weekly series highlighting a few of those talented players, but as they say, everything is bigger in Texas, so we’ll need to do it in part, focusing on one region at a time.
We started with the Houston area and in this article, we’ll have some dangerous attacking players:
Krystin Moore
Krystin Moore
Moore is an important offensive weapon for both her high school team George and Ranch and her club team Rise SC 06 in the Girls Academy league. Very physical and fast, she likes to play very wide on the left and is typically a solid chance-creator. Moore is very aggressive on the ball and likes to face defenders in 1v1 situations. Because of her pace and physical tools, she can be fed the ball behind the backline or get it to her feet, making turns to be defenders and initiate runs. The winger does a very good job of following plays that develop on the opposite side and getting in a position to finish them inside the penalty box and also has a very high work rate, tracking back to help on defense.
A very talented offensive player, Spencer stars for Summer Creek at the high school level and appears for HTX 07 in the Girls Academy League. She’s a true all-around forward, who combines physical and technical tools, has great pace and is a lethal finisher. Because of that, Spencer can be used basically anywhere in the attack, but typically plays as an attacking midfielder/second forward with Summer Creek and on the right wing with HTX. She’s very dangerous with her runs and likes to finish from distance and also does a very good job of setting up combination plays through the middle and connecting with her teammates.

Lara is the focal point of the offense of her high school team Katy and also plays a major role for Albion Hurricanes FC 07 in the regional league. She’s extremely mobile and understands space very well, always getting in a position to explore gaps between defenders. She can play more centrally too, but is at her best when she starts from one of the sides, preferably the right, and has the freedom to make runs on and off the ball inside. Lara uses both feet well to dribble and finish and is very calm and composed in front of the goal.

Edie Dispensa
Edie Dispensa
Dispensa plays for Cy Ranch at the high school level and features for Dynamos SC 08 in the ECNL Regional League. She’s a very skilled player, who can be deployed in different positions offensively, but is probably the most dangerous when used more centrally. From there, be it as a striker or more of an attacking midfielder, she can use her ability to dribble in tight spaces and finish from distance more effectively. Dispensa is very intelligent with her movement and always gets herself in a position to get involved in offensive plays, be it as a facilitator or a finisher.
Reich had a major role as a freshman in her high school team Atascocita and plays up for Challenge SC 08 in the ECNL league. A tall and physical player, she’s very smooth with her action and can perform different roles on the field – because of that, she’s mostly used in midfield with Challenge. She can be used as a target for long passes, but has the mobility and the skills to drift wide and take advantage of the space to make plays and beat defenders. Reich is very calm and efficient in front of the goal and can score at a very high volume if provided service.
