Below is a breakdown of some of the players in the top of the rankings for this class.
Midfielder. Attacking. Listed as a defender on the US Youth National Team roster. Plays as an attacking midfielder for her club team. She is a special talent. I think she is more of a box-to-box midfielder at the college level. She is an easy, graceful runner. She covers yards of grass in a blink of an eye. Her recovery speed jumps off the screen because she is moving at a different pace than anyone else on the field. She showed that she has a bite in the tackle and does not shy away from a challenge. When in possession, she is an excellent passer. She is known to spring the wide pass to Alexa and then make the charging run to get on the end of the cross. She is the prototype of the ideal No. 8. She has the tenacity of a No. 6, the passing and vision of a No. 10, and the willingness to do it all like a No. 8. The small knock on her is that she can get caught ball watching. She will drift out of position for a second or two but her pace makes up for any mistake so it’s rarely noticeable.
Forward. Ridiculous talent. The first player comparison that comes to mind is Kylian Mbappe. It’s not an exact like for like and it’s way too big of shoes for any player, but it’s hard not to see it. She is a powerful runner. Unreal top end speed. Nearly impossible to stop in duels. If you are an outside back against Alexa DeJoseph Alexa DeJoseph F Pope | 2026 State #6 Nation GA , you are in for a long day because she is going to see a lot of the ball and you are going to be asked to stop her. She scores goals by the buckets – and she is doing this at the 07 level as a younger birthday from that year. I’ve been impressed with her skill on the ball this season. She isn’t just running past players, she is figuring out other ways to influence the game which is taking her impact to the next level. The sky is the ceiling for the UFA star.
Center back left. Right-footed. Really impressive game against Concorde Fire Platinum. She did well defensively. She was active on the ball defender. She pursued the center forward when the opportunity was there and won possession for her team. She is one of the best CB i’ve seen in this class at on-ball defending. She knows when to put in the tackle and how to come away cleanly with the ball. She has the skill and foot speed to dribble out of pressure. She could improve on her long-range passing, but that will come with time. High potential prospect.
Highlights
Center back. Right. Paired next to one of the top center backs in the country in the 2025 class, Washington can sometimes be overlooked. But she is every bit the quality and competitor of her peer. She anticipates well and does a good job stepping in front of players on slow entry passes.
Thought she was the best player on the field during the Girls Academy Southeast Event. Terrific midfielder. Skillful, smart, and competitive. Great rip with her left foot for a goal in the second half. She had a dummy in the second half that set up a golden chance for a teammate. Highlight-reel worthy pass midway through the second half that not many players in this age group could pull off as she hit the ball with the outside of her foot to split the center back and left back and send in the winger. Wright is a different level of a player – lots of little aspects of her game that make her an easy talent to spot. Easily one of the best in the class.
Right footed. Fluid athlete. Looks good as an on-ball defender. Will lean on players and throw off their balance. Has unique defensive skills. Excellent passer – hit a jaw-dropping pass to her right winger over 50 yards on a rope. Kelly has big time potential at center back.
Highlights
Goalkeeper. Lexi Goodman is the standout in that role for this class. It’s hard to scout some of the top keepers in this group because their teams are so good that watching game film can be a wasted experience as they may not face a shot in the game. Goodman is one of those as her Tophat team is very strong. Her highlight reel from high school and club shows quite a bit of quality as a young goalkeeper. She is athletic, confident off her line, and a really strong shot-stopper.
