Midfielder. Attacking. Listed as a defender on the US Youth National Team roster. Plays as an attacking midfielder for her club team. She is a special talent. I think she is more of a box-to-box midfielder at the college level. She is an easy, graceful runner. She covers yards of grass in a blink of an eye. Her recovery speed jumps off the screen because she is moving at a different pace than anyone else on the field. She showed that she has a bite in the tackle and does not shy away from a challenge. When in possession, she is an excellent passer. She is known to spring the wide pass to Alexa and then make the charging run to get on the end of the cross. She is the prototype of the ideal No. 8. She has the tenacity of a No. 6, the passing and vision of a No. 10, and the willingness to do it all like a No. 8. The small knock on her is that she can get caught ball watching. She will drift out of position for a second or two but her pace makes up for any mistake so it’s rarely noticeable.
