The DeJoseph twins highlight the midfield/forwards from this group, but they aren’t alone. There are a number of top players across the leagues in the sophomore class in Georgia. Below is a scouting report on a handful of players who appear in the PrepSoccer rankings. Check out the full list here. Learn more about our ranking process here.
Brennan is a forward on Concorde Fire Premier 08 ECNL. She is a center forward with the potential to also play on the wings or as an attacking midfielder. Brennan came off the bench in a game earlier this season in ECNL play and immediately changed the game. She didn’t show up in the stat sheet, but the game opened up because of her play. She made a couple of great passes including one key pass that split the center back and right back. She also drew a penalty kick with a well-timed run behind the defense. Brennan has some qualities to show she can compete at the next level.
Delgado is a forward on the Concorde Fire Platinum 08 ECNL team. I’ve mainly seen her play as a center forward. The immediate attribute from Delgado’s game that stands out is her activity. She is a willing runner – in both the press and in chasing down long balls over the top. Her vertical play allows Concorde Fire’s talent midfield to have more space to operate. Delgado’s game is reliant on that activity but it’s not her only quality. She’s been a prolific scorer at the ECNL level in the past. She offers a promising player profile from a No. 9 but also a potential contributor on the wing. She’d be an excellent fit in a high-pressing system that asks a lot of the forward line. She has the potential to contribute early on in her college career.
Godfrey is a forward on the Tophat Gold GA 08 team. She plays as the center forward for that team. Godfrey has been outstanding this season. She’s dynamic on the ball and turns defenders with ease. She’s elevated her play so much that she should be knocking on a call-up to the international level.
Garnett is a forward/midfielder on the Atlanta Fire 08 ECNL team. She was a first-team All Region player as a freshman in high school. Garnett has been a standout in ECNL this season. A willing runner with a high work-rate, Garnett is the tone setter for her team. She can create and finish in the final third. Because of her willingness to work, she would be a good fit in a high pressing system as an attacking midfielder. She has good vision and often provides chances for teammates. She serves a good ball on set pieces and has had a number of assists this season from dead ball situations.
Kim is a midfielder on the Concorde Fire Premier 08 ECNL team. She is a defensive midfielder on the team. She was named to the ECNL Southeast All-Conference First Team last season. Comfortable on the ball, confident in the tackle, Kim has a good two-way game. She does well in checking her shoulders before receiving the ball to assess where the opposition is. She also stood out as a creative passer. There were a number of passes she hit during the run of play that many players wouldn’t think to accomplish – including a flick with the outside of her foot over her shoulder.
Cangialosi is a midfielder on the Tophat GA Gold 08 team. She is a box-to-box type of midfielder, but she has the vision and attacking instincts to also find a place in the No. 10 role as well. Cangialosi’s composure on the ball, speed of play, and first touch make her a top prospect from the midfield position. She has been outstanding through the first half of the club season with how she helps her side break pressure. She keeps the ball moving for her side and is a facilitator for how they play.
Vescovo is a midfielder on Atlanta Fire United 08 ECNL. She is a box-to-box midfielder. She was named to the ECNL Southeast All-Conference First Team last season. She has been a standout for her club team during this campaign as well. She covers a ton of ground with her high activity. She immediately stood out from game film for her impact through the center of the pitch. It looked like she was everywhere on the field. She is an unrelenting player with good skill.
Mitchell is a defender/midfielder on the Concorde Fire Platinum 08 ECNL team. I’ve seen her play outside back as well as defensive midfield. Mitchell’s versatility makes her a prospect in either role. She’s had some impressive outings so far this season in ECNL play. At outside back, she scored a wonder goal with a beautiful strike from over 20 yards out on a cut in to her right foot. At defensive midfield, she made some key passes to set up the offense for her team. Mitchell is a top playmaker in this class.
Ashtar is a forward on the Concorde Fire Platinum 08 ECNL team. She is a winger. There is zero positional ambiguity when it comes to Ashtar. She is a winger and an excellent one. She is very effective against outside backs. She can put her head down and beat them to the end line or she can cut inside and hit a shot. She mainly lines up at right wing and makes life difficult on the left back from the opening whistle to the final whistle.
Malsom is a forward on the Concorde Fire Platinum 08 ECNL team. She is a center forward. The scouting report on the position from Georgia’s 2026 class comes down to Malsom or Godfrey. Honestly, there is not much separation between the two. It’s a preference decision in my mind for which player a coach prefers. Malsom offers a bit more in the hold-up, combination play. She is a wonderfully skillful player who is a joy to watch. The one knock on her game is that I wish she was more selfish. She is a center forward and should probably be the most selfish player on the field, but Malsom plays to make her teammates better and often sets them up for golden chances instead of taking the chance herself. She’s got the smarts and skill to be a contributor at a top program at the next level.
Qiu is a forward on the GSA 08 ECNL team. She plays center forward for her club team. Qiu is a bit of a different prospect than other center forwards in this class. She isn’t dominant for any physical attribute – and probably looks more like most midfielders in terms of her build. She succeeds thanks to her skill and smarts – along with her determination. She has a poacher’s mentality – her positioning off the ball is a great example for players learning how to be a No. 9. She has been prolific in the ECNL this season with nearly a goal every game. Qiu might not be the top ranked No. 9 in this class right now, but she could end up being the best because she is a student of the game and improves every season.
