St. Louis City SC’s top prospects hold down many of the top spots in this ranking, but this is a deep class. There is talent from ECNL, USYS, and the high school game. Check out the full rankings here.
Read the scouting report on some of the players in the rankings below.
Listed as a midfielder on his player profile. Looks like he plays a more advanced role for his high school – attacking midfielder. Primarily saw him play as a right back for SLSG MO ECNL. He is a weapon on the wing. Slippery with the ball and tough to contain – Adeoye has top college level qualities for the position. He could improve in his tackling technique and go into challenges with more confidence. Overall, he has a bright future.
Probably the surprise of the scouting film session on SLSG MO. It doesn’t seem like there is much out there about him – in terms of honors or recognition. He is a standout center midfielder. A true two-way player. He is under-the-radar now, but I expect him to be on the radar after the summer playoffs. He has a game that should appeal to most scouts – plus the work ethic to be a top performer at summer camps.
A standout for both his high school and his club team, Cassidy is one of the top center backs in the state in this class. He is the captain for his ECNL team, which sits near the top of the standings in the Heartland. At six-feet tall, he has the physical profile for the college game. He has the pace to match with forwards. He showed good technique in the tackle as he moves his feet well and gets his body behind the challenge. He is at his best in the transition. He is comfortable with the ball at his feet and can spring the counter attack with his vision and passing.
He’s an absolute handful. A powerful runner who loves to go at defenders. He can put center backs on their heels. He also plays in the midfield. He has good skill and vision – a weapon for an attacking midfielder. He’s probably at his best as a center forward in a system that lets him press the center backs into mistakes.
Speedy player who could play as a center forward or winger. Quick feet, dances away from players. He’s dangerous around the box because of the quick twitch and the start-stop moves. He is a bit one-foot dominant so he might be too predictable for defenders at the next level. However, he has shown the ability to still be elusive and impactful even when the opposition has the scouting report.
Martinez really impressed with his play in the midfield for JB Marine. It was tough to hunt down much information about him so he’s another under-the-radar prospect that should be popping up for scouts soon. He is a two-way player. He has a good physical profile for the next level – strong, durable, good engine. He showed well for his club side in recent games as he dominated the center of the field against ECNL competition. A true two-way player, Martinez has the quality to be a playmaker
