The Missouri rankings at the state level are tricky with a number of clubs that could claim a different state as the home base. PrepSoccer used the club’s home field as the designation for the state rankings. KC Athletics players were included in the Missouri rankings while Sporting Blue Valley players will be in the Kansas rankings.
The 2025 class for Missouri will be one many scouts have been keeping close tabs on in recent months. There are a number of players on this list who are considered among the best in their position at a national level.
While those standouts are definitely the headliners, there is quite a bit of depth in this class too. Check out the names to know from this state below.
Quick, uses her body well, and takes joy in defending. Orf has the characteristics to be a top center back at the next level. She has the physical profile that might draw the interest of scouts to possibility at outside back – speed and skill to go along with that. However, she is an exceptional player in the center of the field. Her recovery speed as the last line of defense is too valuable of an asset to take out of that position. She could improve on her decisiveness. From game film, it looked like there were times when she second-guess herself on decisions about when to step and when to drop. The indecision will be punished by top level attackers and playmakers.
Comfortable off her line. Confident with her hands. Made some athletic saves on close shots. Lewis looks like she has the potential to develop into a top goalkeeper at the Division I level. She is an excellent shot-stopper and has quick reactions. Her athletic ability really shines for the position. She is not the tallest for the position and the opposition tends to crowd the box on set pieces and corner kicks against her. If she improves on organizing her defense and creating space for herself to make plays in these situations, she will enter the plateau of immediate starters at the next level.
Duffing is another defender from the SLSG Navy 07 squad. Her best fit for the next level would be right center back in a back three. Her elite asset is her strong leg. She scored on a free kick from near midfield in her highlight clip. She also can deliver a cross to the far post from the opposite touchline. Duffing is a good defender – she can have a tendency to get too close to the mark and get turned but she has the pace to recover and the long legs to make success tackles even while on the trailing hip. Duffing has the potential to be an immediate contributor at the next level and displayed this season for SLSG that she is steadily improving.
Highlights
rnForward. Quick. Combination.
rnMoissis scored a nice goal against Minnesota Thunder – it showcased her skill and soccer intelligence. With clever movement and close control of the ball, she broke down the opposition with through the center channel and finished the chance with an excellent shot.
rnQuick. Competitor. Leader
rnGates played at the center of the defense for SLSG Navy – call it a back three or a back five. Gates is the pendulum for how it operates. She is the ball-winner against the center forward – reads the game well, quick to react. Gates also has elite recovery speed. She is quick to go to the ground for a slide tackle and does not quit on a play. She can be a bit cavalier in possession – blind turns, extra touches in the buildout – but she seems quick to learn and rarely makes the same mistake twice. I think the confidence she has to play against pressure is a really promising sign for how she will handle adversity at the next level.
Center back with big-time potential. Has the physical profile to be a top prospect for the position. Smooth runner with agility. Matches up well going against forwards – can match step for step. Moves her feet well to keep her body between the ball and goal – made a number of blocks in recent years. Pretty good passer. Impressive soccer smarts – reads the game well.
Good speed. Closes ground quickly in the press. Size to battle with center backs. Could play her at center forward or on the wing. Best when left on the last defender and let her try to win the foot race on goal. Could improve on her hold-up play to make her a more versatile player.
Hull is a very good two-way midfielder. She excels in the technical side of the game. She has good ball skills with excellent footwork. She can dance out of challenges. Clean in possession with either foot. Strikes the ball well – can hit an accurate cross-field pass. Her passing and movement facilitate a lot of the play for KC Athletics.
rnDifference-maker. Skillful
rn Ellie Neath Ellie Neath null | M State #216 Nation MO has been another breakout star from the SLSG Navy 07 ECNL team this season. She can play as a support striker or as a center attacking midfielder. She is crafty on the ball, smart with her movement, and great vision on the pass. Neath always pops up in dangerous spots and makes key passes in the final third.
Addie Martin is the perfect example of the depth in Missouri. She is going to be an impact-player at the Division I level. A midfielder with an eagerness to work and an engine that does not stop, Martin is a player that could really fit in at any program. She is an aggressive attacking player who does not shy away from contact in the pursuit of scoring goals. She is a skillful player with nimble footwork. And she is eager to hound players defensively. Martin should be on every scout’s radar this spring and summer.

Finley Scott Finley Scott M O Fallon Township | 2025 State MO is a versatile player who could fit any role in the midfield or defense and really fit into any style or system of play. She does the little things really well – checks her shoulders, scans the field, passes to the correct foot. The amount of boxes she ticks is pretty high for a 2025 prospect. She could be a defensive midfielder at the next level as it would probably be the best spot to utilize her soccer smarts, but outside back is also an option given the quality she offers on the ball and tenacity in man-marking.
