And as it currently stands, some of the best girls soccer players in the country play club and high school in Texas. The State is heavily recruited and players are looking to standout during ECNL Showcases, during their high school season and other events in order to separate themselves. Here are seven players who are building a name for themselves and who’s names are starting to ring loudly throughout the Lone Star State.
Mikayla Cunningham Mikayla Cunningham 5'8" | F Alamo Heights | 2027 State #8 Nation TX , Forward, Alamo Heights, Class of 2027
Cunningham has not even started high school yet, but is on her way to being a top flight attacking player for Alamo Heights High in San Antonio. She is a forward and plays ECNL with her club which is Classic Elite. She has been invited to the US Youth National Team ID Camp, she is a 2008 ODP player and on top of that is an AAU Track Junior Olympian. She is a very fast player, who is hard to mark because she is unpredictable. She can bury goals with either foot, but is not a selfish, poaching forward. She is team-oriented and incredibly competitive.
Ryan Fogel Ryan Fogel 5'7" | D Ursuline Academy Of Dallas Varsity | 2026 TX , Central Defender, Ursuline Academy, Class of 2026
Fogel just wrapped up her freshman campaign at Ursuline Academy, one of the top programs in the State of Texas. They are coming off of a state title. She’s also a standout student with a 4.34 GPA. She plays ECNL with the Dallas Texans 2007 team where she is a captain. Fogel is very eager to prove herself and plays hard whether it be for her school or club. She works really hard and gives her all when she’s on the pitch. She’s a versatile player who can play holding midfielder along with outside back, in addition to her natural position of center back. What is great about having Fogel as one of your center backs is that she can possess the ball and is committed to playing possession style soccer. For her age, she is incredibly poised. People that see her play would call her technically gifted, very skilled. She’s not afraid to make a challenge as she is a very tough player, she positions herself well as a defender, and because she is committed to possession, she is a very strong passer.
Olivia Geller Olivia Geller 5'9" | GK Southlake Carroll | 2025 State #56 Nation TX , Keeper, Southlake Carroll, Class of 2025
Geller, a sophomore keeper at Southlake Carroll High in Southlake, is a highly rated, four-star keeper. Her team won a 6A State title in 2022 and she was with Sting Dallas Black, but recently left the club to focus on working on personal training as well as playing WPSL. She has opportunities to train with boys teams and a professional team as well, as Geller will be challenged. Geller is an athletic keeper who can make all of the saves. She can stop balls with her feet, she has strong hands and anticipates well in order to cover the corners of her net as well. She is very fearless, she plays with intensity and aggressiveness but that doesn’t mean she loses her focus. She stays calm, cool and remains an intelligent player during a match.
Madissyn Harris Madissyn Harris GK William H. Taft | 2025 TX , Keeper, Taft-San Antonio, Class of 2025
Harris was the Frontier League Keeper of the Year as both a freshman, and a sophomore. She plays for Premier Futbol Academy in San Antonio and has played there since she was eight years old. Where Harris really stands out as a keeper is her communication. She talks to her defenders a lot and is good at directing traffic and staying on top of what the attack is doing. She will likely be the loudest player on the pitch, as she is not afraid to let her defenders know where to go and what to do. She makes a big impact with her communication, but also makes an impact with big saves. She has a complete game as a keeper. She reads the game well and knows when to come for a ball or stay back and cover the posts. She’s also a very good shot stopper.
Neliaj Kealohilani DeLeon, Keeper, Georgetown, Class of 2024
Kealohilani DeLeon just finished her junior year at Georgetown High, which is not too far outside of Austin. However, she plays her club in San Antonio, making the journey to play for the excellent club that is Classic Elite, playing for the 2006 ECNL team. She recently played in National Select Games in Houston and was also invited to a USYNT ID camp. She has not committed collegiately yet, but does have interest and offers and is narrowing her choices down. NKD is an impressive keeper. She’s athletic, reactive and plays with confidence and passion. Her athleticism shows in her explosiveness as she reacts quickly to balls played in the box and can come for them quickly. She also has good instincts when it comes to reacting to shots on goal. She’s also a very vocal keeper making her a very good field general.
Haley “Halo” Pazahanick Haley “Halo” Pazahanick 5'4" | M Klein Cain | 2025 State TX , Midfielder, Klein Cain, Class of 2025
Pazahanick is a player who is gaining a lot of steam right now. She really shows well when seeing her in person or on video. She reads the game well, knows when to step to the ball, and she’s an absolute ball winner. She times her tackles well, and she can start an attack as she picks out a pass very well and can deliver a precision ball to the wide areas. Her recruiting window hasn’t opened yet, but she should receive a ton of interest when it does. She is one of the more highly rated players in Texas, and she is a multi-sport star, with a very high GPA of 4.74. On the pitch she plays in the midfield, and is versatile. She features as a defensive mid for Challenge Soccer Club where she plays on the 2007 ECNL team. She generally features as an attacking mid for Klein Cain High in Klein, TX. Halo, as she is known by, plays the midfield with passion and fire and aggression. She’s so hard-working, she does not quit. She’s excellent when defending 1v1 and with her work rate, an attacker won’t out-work her. In addition she is a very good teammate.
Reagan Roberts Reagan Roberts F Prosper | 2025 State #293 Nation TX , Forward/Outside Defender, Prosper, Class of 2025
Roberts is versatile, and that is putting it lightly. More accurately, she is very, very, very versatile. She is a Swiss Army Knife. She played as an outside back on the left side for Prosper High this past season, and spent some time playing the No. 11, the No. 9 and also spent some time in the midfield. For her club, which is the Dallas Texans 2006 ECNL team, she played the No. 11, but also played some at the No. 7 and as an outside back. She helped the Lady Eagles to a great season, as they reached the District 5-6 final and lost to rival Boyd of McKinney. They finished as a top five 6A team in Texas. She is already a top rated player in the State and her recruiting window hasn’t even opened yet. She really excels because of how unselfish and team-oriented she is. Being left-footed helps her standout as well as she has perhaps the strongest left foot in her age group. She can play balls into tight spaces with incredible accuracy and she can score from distance with a precision, rocket shot. She works hard no matter what end of the pitch she’s on, and as a defender she makes it hard for people to get past her.
