PLANO, TX: With the 2023-2024 season right around the corner, clubs need the opportunity to play together with their new rosters and test themselves in competition. Pre-season tournaments like the Premier Cup (hosted by Solar SC) are a great way to identify emerging talent and get a preview of what is possibly to come in 2023-2024. This article will highlight some of the standout players from the ECNL preseason U17 boys match-up between FC Dallas ECNL White 07B and BVB ECNL 07B at the Premier Cup. Both teams have talented players, but FC Dallas dominated the majority of the match and showed they have an impressive squad who are capable of achieving a lot in the upcoming season.

Antonie Van Tonder is a very talented center back who is a key player and provides leadership at the back for his team. He is a very smart defender who is great at playing under pressure and against the press. Antonie's passing and vision are excellent especially for a center back. He is an incredibly athletic player who can recover quickly and has the strength to win challenges. His 1v1 defending, tackling, and ability to read passes make him a fantastic overall center back with a ton of potential for the future.

Liam Burns is a strong midfielder who is very effective defensive midfielder and can play at the back as well. He is a tenacious player who frequently wins possession back for his side. He sees the field well, finds the right passes, and makes contributions at both ends of the pitch. Liam is very strong when going into challenges and has great timing with his tackles.

Jackson Kendrick is a complete center forward who is always a goal scoring threat. He has a lot of pace that allows him to get in behind defenders and very effective when pressing. Jackson has the skill on the ball to beat defenders 1v1 and create space to get shots off. He is incredibly efficient in front of goal and has the ability to score in all manner of ways. Jackson's keen sense of positioning and timing in the final third makes him very hard for defenders to mark. He is definitely a player to watch this year and in the future.

Connor Winkenhofer is a technical goalkeeper with a high soccer IQ. He is constantly communicating with defenders to help organize his team in front of him. Connor's positioning and good hands help him to make a lot of saves other keepers would not. He is good with his feet and is an accurate passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='144769' first='Mohamed' last='Ouedraogo'] is a tall and strong young center back with a lot of upside. He knows how to use his strength to hold off attackers or get them off the ball. His height helps make him good in the air and to be a target on offensive set pieces. Mohamed won't shy away from a challenge and has good timing when sliding in to make tackles.

Jonathan Wang is a midfielder who shows intelligence and versatility. He can play as either an attacking or defensive midfielder and adapts to different game situations well. Jonathan makes few mistakes on the ball and doesn't often give away possession cheaply. He has the fitness and ability to play box to box.
