Generation Adidas Girls Division Day 1 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It was a lovely day at IMG Academy as the wind seemed to die down and temperatures never got over 80 degrees which led to some amazing footy being played. With the expanded Girl's Division this year there was more teams and talent on hand. A mix of some of the Girl's Academy best U16 talent from around the country coming together and competing against some of the top teams around the world. It's been a joy to watch so far. I was extremely impressed with the WeLeague side from Asia as they beat the Girl's Academy Royal side 3-0, keeping possession what seemed like the entire game. Really looking forward to tomorrows action. She was class from start to finish in not only her defensive responsibilities but creating chances going forward. She put in a couple of lovely crosses and worked really well with her right wingers Sarah Coffman and [player_tooltip player_id='210625' first='Rhea' last='Steil']. Her work rate was second to none and when you pair that with elite athleticism you get a very strong prospect indeed. It was my first time watching her play and I am glad I had the pleasure of doing so. She is a top prospect with excellent athleticism and technical ability. It was a similar goal to York's but from a little closer as she made a lovely combination coming inside from the right wing and smashed a ball the Real Madrid goalkeeper with her left foot. She seems to play a bit of a different game to others. Thinking steps ahead of the opposition and finding pockets of space to get on the half turn to drive at defenses. She has everything that a top center back needs to succeed at the next level. Like most players from Tophat she is very good in possession and really good at breaking lines. Her size and athleticism makes her look like a woman amongst girls out there. She plays very physical and bullied anyone she went up against today. Very strong in the air and loves a 50-50 challenge. I'm embarrassed to say that I had no clue who she was before today as she is in my market (Northern California). I certainly won't be making that mistake again her talent is evident. Technically gifted, intelligent, and works really hard off the ball. She was an absolute menace to deal with for the Bayern Munich back line the entire game. She scored a lovely hat-trick in about 15 minutes after kick off against Bayern Munich in a 6-2 win. She was absolutely clinical in front of goal burying any chance that came her way. Her first two goals were quite similar getting on the end of a through ball cutting inside onto her right foot to beat the trailing defender and smashing the ball into the bottom right corner. She might be the early favorite to win player of the tournament after today.
